Forest of Cerisy

Forest of Cerisy

Forest of Cerisy

2127 ha forest, 75% covered with beech trees. It is located almost entirely in the municipality of Montfiquet in the Calvados, a small portion extending into the town of Cerisy-la-Forêt in Manche. Once there, take time to admire the Saint-Vigor Abbey and explore the sculpture parc.

Good to know: The golden Carabus Auronitens, an insect of 4 to 5 cm, lives in the Cerisy Forest. It is a protected and rare species whose capture and detention are prohibited. The Stags, meanwhile, are less discrete and are the only population settled in Calvados and Manche. If you happen to meet them, continue along your way in order not to disturb them.
